1 This is an application for grant of bail. The applicant is shown as an accused in C.R.No.227/2008 registered by the Solapur Taluka Police Station for alleged offences punishable under Sections 498A & 306 of IPC. The deceased Savita committed suicide by burning herself. The incident in question took place on 13.10.2008 and Savita expired on 19.10.2008. The applicant is in custody since 19.10.2008. The offence is not punishable with life imprisonment. In the circumstances, taking into account that the applicant is in custody for more than 1 year and 5 months, I am inclined to grant bail. It is therefore, directed that pending his trial in connection with C.R.No.227/2008 registered by the Solapur Taluka Police Station, the applicant may be released on bail in the sum of Rs. 20,000/ with one surety in the like amount subject to the condition that he should report to the Investigating officer once a fortnight on every 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month and will attend all the dates of his trial unless exempted. Application stands disposed off.
