At the hearing of the Petition, Counsel appearing for the Petitioner has stated before the Court that without prejudice to the submission of the Petitioner that all the relevant documents for the grant of an exemption under Section 23 of the Maharashtra Private Security Guards (Regulation of Employment and Welfare) Act, 1981 have already been submitted, the Petitioner is ready and willing to furnish the documents which were referred to in the communication dated 2nd March, 2009 issued by the Government of Maharashtra, in the Industries, Energy and Labour Department (Exhibit I to the

Petition). Learned AGP on behalf of the Respondent states that in the event that the Petitioner resubmits the requisite documents, the application for exemption shall be considered in accordance with law expeditiously and a final decision shall be communicated to the Petitioner within a period of eight weeks of the submission of the documents. It is clarified that in the event that the Petitioner submits all the required documents, the application for exemption shall be considered afresh without reference to the order dated 2nd March, 2009. The Petition is accordingly disposed of.
