 1. The petitioner in this case claims two reliefs.

¶23

 Firstly, he claimed that he should be declared to be
 eligible to be appointed to the post of primary teacher
 and secondly he claimed that the respondents should be
 directed to appoint him to the post of primary teacher.
 At an interim stage, this Court had directed that

 subject to the outcome of these writ petitions, the
 petitioner should also be interviewed. His main
 contention was that he had passed the Diploma which is
 recognised by the Government of Maharashtra, but
 subsequently it was de-recognised and then again it was
 recognised. The respondents had taken a view that the
 diploma was not recognised and therefore he was not

 eligible. This controversy has now been settled by a

 Judgment of this Court in Prashant s/o Premchand

Chanekar vs. State of Maharashtra & Ors.2006 (2)

Mh.L.J.657 and the Diploma of Teaching of Sagar

 University has been held to be a recognised

 qualification for the purpose of being eligible to the

 post of primary teacher.

 2. Following the said Judgment, we allow this

¶34

 petition to the extent of holding that the Diploma held
 by the petitioner was a recognised Diploma by the
 Government of Maharashtra. With regard to the second
 relief claiming appointment, the petitioner has given up
 that relief as 11 years have already passed from the
 date this petition was filed.

 The Writ Petitions are accordingly disposed of.
