The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of Respondents in not releasing financial assistance of Rs.13,28,342/(Rupees Thirteen Lakhs Twenty Eight Thousand Three Hundred and Forty Two only), sanctioned to the Petitioner (Application I.D. No.2022004838) under ‘Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Overseas Scholarship scheme, as illegal and arbitrary.

The Petitioner had applied for financial assistance under ‘Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Overseas Scholarship scheme for the academic year 2022-2023 and the same was allotted with Application I.D. No. 2022004838. After due verification, Respondent-Authorities sanctioned 1^st installment for an amount of Rs.18,43,000/- (Rupees Eighteen Lakhs Forty Three Thousand only) in favour of the Petitioner for pursuing Master of Science in Metals and Energy Finance Course at Imperial College, London, United Kingdom.

Thereafter, on 22.12.2023, Respondent-Authorities

released an amount of Rs.10,23,444/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs Twenty Three Thousand Four Hundred and Forty Four only) as 2^nd Installment to the Petitioner. Though, Petitioner completed her Master of Science in Metals and Energy Finance Course, the remaining balance amount of financial assistance i.e., Rs.13,28,342/(Rupees Thirteen Lakhs Twenty Eight Thousand Three Hundred and Forty Two only) as promised to the Petitioner was not disbursed to her. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed.
