This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the BNSS, has been filed by the petitioner herein/Accused No.2, seeking regular bail, in Crime No. 28/2025 of Dumbriguda P.S., Alluri Sitharama Raju District, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 20(b)(ii)(C) read with 8(C) , 25 of the NDPS, Act.

Brief facts of the case are that, the petitioner and other accused were found in possession of 25 Kgs of ganja while they were carrying the same, during the vehicle checking conducted by the S.I. of Dumbriguda P.S., on 18.10.2025.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor representing the respondent/State. Perused the material on record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner/Accused No.2 was remanded to judicial custody on 19.10.2025 and since then, he has been in judicial custody.

¶26

Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that the case is still under investigation and some more witnesses are to be examined and the statutory period is not over. The quantity of contraband involved in present crime is 25 Kgs of Ganja, which is a commercial quantity.
