This Criminal Petl'tl-on, under Sections 480 and 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, has been filed by the Petitioner/A7, seeking bail, in Crime No.133/2024 of Narasaraopeta lI Town police station, Palnadu.

A case has been registered against the petitioner and others for the offences punishable under Sections 98 and 99 of B.N.S.

Case of the prosecution in brief, is that prior to 26.10.2024 the I'nfOrmant received informatl-on about illegal trafficking of I-nfants in Narasaropeta. upon investI'gatiOn, they questioned a women named Bhajam Padma residing in Nimmathota who revealed that she Purchased a baby girl for Rs.35,000/- through an intermediary named Mariyamma. The investigation further revealed that another resident of Nimmathota i.e. p.Nagalakshmi had three daughters and one son and she sold her third daughter, Sweety, aged 2 years, to an intermediary named Ramana for Rs.1,00,000/-. The informant reported the sal-d illegal trafflcking of children in Narasaraopeta to the police station. The Petitioner Was arrested On 10.12.2024 and got remanded to judicial custody.

A perusal of the materl-al available on record goes to showthat the baby gI|rl Was Purchased for an amount of Rs.35,000/- through an l'ntermedI'ary named Mariyamma. Learned Assl'stant public prosecutor, on I-nStruCtjOnS, SubmI-tS that no offence had been made out as against the petjtl'oner herein and the police, during the course of I'nVeStI-gatjon, come to a conclusion that the baby gI'rl Was not sold, but for the treatment gI'Ven by A2 to the baby girl, the money was pal-d tO A2. Apart from jt, there are no other transactions.

court l's inclined to grant ba" to the petI-tjOner/A7 hereI'n, On the following conditions.

(i) The petl-tI'Oner/A7 herel'n shall be released on his executing a personal bond for Rs.10,000/-(Rupees ten thousand only) with two sureties for a like sum each to the satl'sfaction of the AddjtI'Onal Junl'or civil Judge, Narasaraopeta,-

(ji) on release, the petitI-Oner shall appear before the station House officer concerned once jn a week l'.e. on every sunday between 10.00 a.m. and 05.00 p.m., till filing of charge sheet.
