Aggrieved by the inaction of the 2^nd respondent in disposing of the petition dated 11.10.2021 filed by the petitioner for release of the seized vehicle bearing No. AP 39 TB 9878, the writ petition is filed.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Civil Supplies appearing for the respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the owner of the seized vehicle. The said vehicle has been seized by the respondent authorities under the cover of a mediatornama dated 03.10.2021 alleging that PDS rice is being transported in the vehicle. Thereafter, proceedings under Section 6-A of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, were initiated. Petitioner filed a petition on 11.10.2021 before the 2^nd respondent for release of the vehicle towards interim custody but so far the 2^nd respondent has not passed any orders due to which the petitioner is deprived of his source of income.

Learned Assistant Government Pleader submits that the 2^nd respondent will consider the petition of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, submissions of the learned counsel and on perusal of the material record, this Court, in the interests of justice, felt it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition directing the 2^nd respondent to consider the petition submitted by the petitioner on 11.10.2021 for release of the seized vehicle, and pass orders, as per law,

within a period of seven (07) days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the same to the petitioner.

With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.

Pending Miscellaneous Petitions shall stand closed.
