Contempt Case No. 79 of 2020

ORDER :

1. The present Contempt case came to be filed under Sections 10 and 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, for willful and deliberate violation of the Order, dated 16.10.2019, passed in W.P. No. 8526 of 2019, wherein, this Court passed the following order:

“7. Hence, recording the said statement, liberty is given to the petitioner to make a representation to the respondents, within a period of 10 days and on such representation made by the petitioner, the respondents shall pass appropriate orders within three (3) weeks thereon, keeping in view the above position of the Rules and Law and shall select the petitioner against the sports quota, if he is otherwise qualified”

1. In terms of the Order in the Writ Petition, the Petitioner made a representation, dated 23.10.2019. The Respondents Authority considered the representation and passed an Order on 05.12.2019. While passing the said Order, the Authority referred to G.O. Ms. No. 74, dated 09.08.2012, issued by the Youth Advancement, Tourism & Culture (Sports) Department. Thereafter, another G.O.Ms. No. 7, dated 07.03.2019, came to be issued adding “Ball Badminton”.
