Writ Petition (WRIT - C No. 11691 of 2026), Allahabad High Court (Manish Kumar Nigam, J.), decided May 5, 2026 — Petitioner sought mandamus directing the respondents to permit him fisheries work pursuant to an auction dated 10.02.2023, registered on 06.08.2025, in respect of the Pond, Khasra No. 159, area 0.6580 hectare, Village Chhajjupur, Tehsil and District Meerut, and to restrain the respondents, particularly respondent no. 5, from interfering with his fishing rights. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.

Instructions have been submitted today by learned Standing Counsel, the same is taken on record.

This writ petition has been filed seeking following relief :-

"a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding the respondents to permit the petitioner to fisheries work pursuant to the auction dated 10.02.2023, which was registered on 06.08.2025 in favour of the petitioner, in respect of the Pond being Khasra No. 159 area 0.6580 Hectare, situate at Village Chhajjupur, Tehsil and District Meerut forthwith;

a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding the respondents particularly respondent no. 5, restraining them from interfering in the fishing right of the petitioner in the Pond being Khasra No. 159 area 0.6580 Hectare, situate at Village Chhajjupur @ Chhajmalpur, Tehsil and District Meerut, pursuant to the auction dated 10.02.2023 granted in his favour, which was registered on 06.08.2025 in favour of the petitioner;"

Learned Standing Counsel has submitted that it has been stated in the instructions by S.D.M. that on 28.4.2026, letter has been issued to respondent no.5 stating therein that respondents will not interfere with the exercise of fishery rights of the petitioner.

In view of the stand taken by learned Standing Counsel, no further orders are required to be passed. However, it is provided that in case Pradhan still
