1. Sri Shikhar Chandra, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri Deepak Chauhan, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a practicing lawyer of this Court. He was engaged as a Special Law Official in Writ A No. 11340 of 2019 and other connected matters. The terms of the engagement has already been made clear in the engagement letter dated 20.11.2019.

3. In terms of the aforesaid engagement, he appeared for the respondents and thereupon raised the bills. The bills have also been approved vide order dated 27.02.2024 passed by the respondents. Still, the payment is not made by the respondents. Being aggrieved by the same, the instant petition has been filed by the petitioner.

4. Learned counsel for the respondents seeks some time to obtain instructions in the matter.

5. Accordingly, two weeks' time is granted to obtain instructions.

¶16

6. It is also made clear that if the aforesaid bills which have already been approved by the respondents, if there is no other legal impediment, the payment of the same shall also be ensured within the aforesaid period.
