Mr. Diptiman Singh, learned advocate appears on behalf of petitioner, a sugar mill. He submits, prayer of his client is for allotment of additional sugarcane to his client for crushing season 2025-26 as per installed crushing capacity of his client. Consequential prayer is to restrain other sugar mills from purchasing sugarcane, as might impinge on the additional allotment to be made.

On query Mr. Singh draws attention to allotment order dated 25th October, 2025 for current season. He submits, his client was allotted 60.73 lakh quintals in an assessment made by the Sugarcane Commissioner in terms of section 15 in Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane (Regulation of Supply and Purchase) Act, 1953. He then refers to orders dated 8th January, 7th March and 24th April, 2025 of the Supreme Court in his client's petition for Special Leave to Appeal (C) no. 16538 of 2024 arising out of final judgment and order dated 13th May, 2024 in his client's earlier Writ-C no. 40022 of 2023 , passed by this Court.

Our prima-facie impression on perusal of aforesaid orders of the Supreme Court causes us to observe that we can dispose of the writ petition saying, in event of compliance by petitioner of the requirement, aforesaid allotment dated 25th October, 2025 be complied with as for current season. Mr. Singh seeks adjournment to obtain instructions.
