The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition inter-alia with the following prayers:-

"a) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent no. 2 to transfer the firearm license for transfer of NPB Revolver/Pistol No.7788 covered on the Petitioner's father's arm license No.7782/Police Station Kotwali, Etawah in favour of Mr. Laxmipati Chaturvedi to his son the petitioner forthwith.

b) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent no. 2 to decide the Application Form No.5018 for transfer of NPB Revolver/Pistol No.7788 covered on the Petitioner's father's arm license No. 7782, Police Station Kotwali, Etawah dated pending before the Respondent no. 2.

c) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent no.2 to decide the representation dated 01.05.2025 and 20.05.2025 pending before the Respondent no.2."

It is argued that though the aforesaid application was filed by the petitioner before the Respondent No.2 on 21.12.2024, copy of which is appended at page-67 of the paper book but till date no decision has been taken, hence the present writ petition.

On the other hand, it is argued by the learned Standing Counsel that

Respondent No.2 will take a decision in the matter, expeditiously.
