Heard learned counsel for petitioners and learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the State-respondents.

By way of the present writ petition, a direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents not to interfere in peaceful marital life of petitioners, has been sought.

Learned counsel for petitioners submits that both the petitioners are major and have solemnized marriage with each other of their own freewill according to Hindu Rites and Custom on 07.09.2025 and they have also applied online on dated 09.09.2025 seeking registration of their marriage but due to threats which are being given by respondent nos.4 to 9, petitioners could not get registered their marriage. Learned counsel for petitioners further submitted that in pursuance of the hindrances being created by respondent nos.4 to 9, petitioners moved a representation before Superintendent of Police, Kannauj but no heed has been paid, hence this petition.

Considering the threat perception and circumstances as demonstrated, Superintendent of Police, Kannauj is hereby directed to provide protection to petitioners herein in shape of providing them one lady constable and one male head constable for ensuring their security which is apprehended at the behest of respondent nos.4 to 9.

Put up this case on 08.10.2025 as fresh .

Meanwhile, petitioners shall get registered their marriage and learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel shall also seek instructions.
