The order dated 24.04.2025 by which the application submitted by the petitioner for grant of firearm license on the basis of succession was rejected.

After some arguments, a prayer has been made by learned counsel for the petitioner to dismiss the present petition as withdrawn with liberty to the petitioner to file appeal as provided under Section 18 of the Arms Act, 1959 before the Appellate Authority.

This prayer has not been opposed by learned Standing Counsel.

Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty as prayed.

It is made clear that in case, the petitioner will file appeal before the Appellate Authority within two weeks from today, the Appellate Authority will decide the same within a period of two months thereafter.
