Heard Sri Aditya Tiwari, Advocate, holding brief on behalf of Sri Anurag Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner; and Sri Abhishek Kumar Pandey, learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the Staterespondents.

By means of this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed for the following relief:

"Wherefore, it is most respectfully prayed that this Hon'ble Court may graciously be pleased to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus thereby commanding/directing the opposite party No. 2 to grant of Arms License for Revolver in favour of the petitioner."

The contention of learned counsel for the petitioner is that he applied for Arms License in the year 2019 and completed all the formalities that are required under the prescribed Rules but the concerned authorities are sitting over the matter and have not granted license to the petitioner till date.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn attention of this Court to the application/representation dated 29/09/2025 as contained in Annexure No.6 to the present writ petition. The said representation is addressed to the District Magistrate, District- Pratapgarh wherein the petitioner has mentioned the details in respect of the criminal cases against him along

with other information and has inter alia prayed for the consideration of his grievances but the same has not been taken into consideration.

Looking into the fact that the petitioner has already moved an application/representation dated 29/09/2025 before the District Magistrate, District- Pratapgarh, which is pending for consideration, this Court is of the considered view that at this stage, it would not be appropriate to pass any direction as prayed for by the petitioner by means of the instant writ petition. Thus, no useful purpose will be served in keeping the present writ petition pending.

Accordingly, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Magistrate, District- Pratapgarh (respondent No. 2) to consider and pass appropriate order on the application/representation of the petitioner dated 29/09/2025, strictly in accordance with law, within a maximum period of three months from the date a certified copy of this order is produced by the petitioner, unless there is any legal impediment.

With the aforesaid observation and direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
