Petitioner sought a writ of mandamus commanding the Consolidation Officer, Sadar-II, Azamgarh (respondent no. 2) to decide Case No. 2242 (Sugriv Vs. State) under Section 9A(2) of the U.P. Heard Sri Yashwant Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri Satendra Bhushan Dubey, learned standing counsel appearing for the State-respondents.

The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking following relief:

"(i) A writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding to the Consolidation Officer Sadar-II, Azamgarh (respondent no. 2) to decide the Case No. 2242 (Sugriv Vs. State) under Section 9A(2) of U.P. Consolidation of Holdings Act with regard to village Naubarar Turkchara, Pargana-Gopalpur, Tehsil Sagadi, District Azamgarh, within some specific time bound period."

This Court vide order dated 10.07.2025 had directed the learned standing counsel to obtain instruction in the matter.

Learned standing counsel has informed that despite issuance of letter dated 18.07.2025, no instructions have been received till date in the matter.

In view of the aforesaid, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the writ petition pending.
