Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Standing counsel for the respondents.

The petition has been filed with the following main prayer:-

"It is most respectfully prayed that this Hon'ble Court may graciously be pleased to issue a writ order or direction in the nature of MANDAMUS thereby commanding the opp. Parties specially the Opp. Party No. 4 to 6 to treat/correct the domicile certificate number of the petitioner is 251800020004386 in place of 251800020004346 in the application form of the petitioner for the post of Mini Aganbadi Karya Katri, and consider the candidature of the petitioner for the appointment on the post of Aganbadi Karya Katri for Center Kudaspara-3, Block Fakharpur, District Bahraich."

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that while uploading the domicile certificate, the correct certificate number could not be uploaded due to an error. It is, therefore, prayed that the petitioner may be permitted to rectify the domicile certificate number in the application form, so that her candidature for the post of Anganwari Karyakatri may be duly considered.

Per contra, learned Standing Counsel, relying on written instructions, submits that as per Clause-IV of the Government Order dated 21.03.2023, it was incumbent upon the petitioner to furnish accurate details while filling and uploading the application form on the portal. However, the petitioner entered incorrect domicile certificate and application numbers that is

why they could not be verified.

Upon perusal, it appears that the error committed by the petitioner was inadvertent. Permitting her to correct the residence certificate and and application number would not confer her any undue benefit. Moreover, it is not the petitioner’s case that these details are being disclosed to the authorities for the first time. The authorities are already aware of the erroneous entries as the original certificates regarding her educational qualification were also uploaded at the same time.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 5 to obtain an affidavit from the petitioner and allow her to correct the residence certificate number and residence application number, and proceed to conduct selection while considering the case of other candidates along with that of petitioner, strictly on merits as per law.

The instructions provided by the learned Standing Counsel are taken on record.
