Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State.

The writ petition has been filed with the following prayer:

"a) issue, a writ, order or direction, in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondent Authorities, to accept the Voluntary Retirement of the petitioner and to Voluntary Retire the petitioner from his services and to pay the all the consequential benefits after the Voluntary Retirement.

b). Issue, a writ, order or direction, in the nature of mandamus, directing the Respondent Authorities, to consider the claim of the petitioner for accepting the Voluntary Retirement of the petitioner and to grant him Voluntary Retirement and to pay the all the consequential benefits after the Voluntary Retirement."

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is working on the post of Sub Inspector and has applied for voluntary retirement before the respondent no.3, however till date, no order has been passed. Applications have been filed on 7.2.2025 and 21.2.2025.

Learned Standing Counsel submits that the decision on the applications of the petitioner for voluntary retirement would be decided in a time bound manner.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, it is hereby provided that the respondent no.3 shall decide the applications filed by the petitioner for voluntary retirement in accordance with law, preferably within a period of two months from the date of production of a certified copy of the order.

With the aforesaid observation/direction, the writ petition stands disposed of.
