Heard Sri Ravi Sahu, learned counsel for the petitioner, Ms. Harshit Pandey, learned counsel for the respondent no. 2 and learned Standing Counsel for the State respondent.

The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondent no. 2 to release the arrears of salary under the Assured Career Progression (ACP) Scheme alongwith interest as applicable.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is working as a Safari Karmchari in Nagar Nigam, Kanpur Nagar, and has performed his duties for more than 35 years. Accordingly, he is entitled to get ACP benefits. It is further submitted that he has made the said request on various occasions including his representation dated 17.06.2025.

In view of the aforesaid, I do not find good reasons for keeping the aforesaid petition pending. Accordingly, the respondent no. 2 is directed to forthwith consider the claim of the petitioner as raised in his representation dated 17.06.2025, within a period of four weeks from today. It is further provided that if his claim is found to be correct, the arrears shall be released within a period of two weeks, thereafter, alongwith an interest of 7% per annum.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition stands disposed of.
