Heard Sri Vinod Kumar Tiwari, learned counsel for the writ petitioner and Sri K.P. Pathak, learned counsel for the respondents.

The case of the writ petitioner is that the writ petitioner happens to be the father of the deceased son Virendra Kumar Chaudhary, who was unmarried and posted as Ticket Collector, however, on the fateful day on 26.08.2016 at 10:00 in the night an incident occurred whereby the son of the writ petitioner was shot and a first information report bearing number "238 of 2016" under Section 302 of IPC came to be lodged. Learned counsel for the writ petitioner submits that in view of the circular dated 25.11.2016, issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Railways, Railway Board, New Delhi, the writ petitioner is entitled to be granted Ex-Gratia lump sum compensation of Rs.25,00,000/-.

Prayer in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondents to finalize the compensation and to ensure payment of lump sum compensation to the tune of Rs.25,00,000/- pending since 05.12.2018.

Sri Pathak, who appears for the respondents on the other hand submits that it is for the writ petitioner to approach the respondent no.2 who shall consider the claim of the writ petitioner.

Having heard the submissions so made across the Bar and after perusing the record, the writ petition stands disposed of requiring the writ petitioner to prefer a comprehensive representation along with the self-attested copy of the writ petition and certified copy of the order before the second
