The affidavit filed by Shri Aditya Bhushan Singhal, learned counsel for the respondent is taken on record.

The affidavit discloses payment of undisputed and lawful claim made by the petitioner. The amount towards GPF to the tune of Rs. 20,53,116/- was paid to the petitioner vide cheque No. 633591 dated 29.04.2022 prior to the filing of the writ petition. The arrears of pension from May 2022 and June 2022 to the tune of Rs. 1,32,796/- and gratuity to the tune of Rs. 8,91,837/- have been released in favour of the petitioner vide cheque No. 888417 dated 28.03.2025. The amount of Rs. 1,30,444/- towards GIS has also been transferred to the bank account of the petitioner through RTGS/NEFT. The claim of the petitioner which is in dispute is being considered by the competent authority.

The affidavit also discloses that due to the financial crunch being faced by the Nigam, there is a backlog of five months in payment of salary and allowances of its employees/pensioners. The pension upto October, 2024 has already been released in favour of the petitioner.

Shri Aditya Bhushan Singhal, learned counsel for the respondent submits that the disputed claim of the petitioner shall be decided by a reasoned order within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
