Allahabad High Court (Lucknow Bench), Manoj Bajaj, J. — Application under Section 482 Code of Criminal Procedure by Mohammad Asad for quashing of the charge sheet dated 16.10.2023 and the summoning order dated 12.7.2024 passed by the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Ambedkar Nagar in Electricity Case No. 382 of 2024, titled State Vs. Muhammad Asad, arising out of Case Crime No. 329 of 2021 under Section 135 Electricity Act, Police Station Anti Power Theft, Ambedkar Nagar, and the entire proceedings arising therefrom. During hearing, learned counsel for the applicant fairly stated that the applicant would make an attempt for compounding the offence of theft of electricity, no such application having been made previously; Ms. Parul Kant, learned A.G.A., did not oppose and stated that any such application would be considered in accordance with law. Considering the stands of the rival parties, the Court disposed of the application with liberty to the applicant to apply for compounding the alleged offence. Decided October 7, 2025.
