Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned State Counsel appearing on behalf of opposite party No.1 while power on behalf of opposite parties 2,3 and 4 has been field by Mr. Pankaj Kumar Verma Advocate which is taken on record.
Petition has been filed challenging order dated 8th December, 2023 whereby petitioner has been placed under suspension pending departmental inquiry.
A perusal of the suspension order indicates that petitioner has prima facie been found to be involved in discrepancy pertaining to certain articles which were kept in the store room. Petitioner was stationed there on the post of Accountant.
Considering the fact that the allegations levelled against petitioner appear to be serious in nature and for which departmental inquiry is already under contemplation and since no jurisdictional error has been indicated by learned counsel for petitioner, opposite party are directed to conclude the inquiry proceedings within a period of five months from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before the disciplinary authority.
The aforesaid time frame shall be subject to cooperation by petitioner in inquiry proceedings.
In case the inquiry proceedings are not concluded within aforesaid time frame, petitioner shall be at liberty to approach this Court again with regard to his grievance.
The petition stands disposed of.
