1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel for State-respondent nos.1 to 3 and Shri Sankalp Dewari, Advocate, who has put in appearance on behalf of opposite party no.4 and his Vakalatnama is taken on record.

1. The petitioner, who claims himself to be a journalist, has filed this Public Interest Litigation seeking following reliefs :-

" (i) Issue writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding the Respondent No. 1 to 5 to ensure that no statue of Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj, shall be installed in the middle of the Chowk Crossing, Lucknow (on the public road) by demolishing the water foundation in the name of Late Pt. Amrit Lal Nagar, in violation of the dictum of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in case of Union of India Versus State of Gujrat and others reported in 2013 SCC OnLine Supreme Court 1472 and the government orders dated 03.07.2007 and 23.09.2008 and if necessary the same may be installed at some other suitable place as per law;

(ii) Issue writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus to the Respondent No. 1 to frame appropriate rules as per direction of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in case of Union of India Versus State of Gujrat and others reported in 2013 SCC OnLine Supreme Court 1472. "
