By means of this petition, the petitioners have sought quashing of First Information Report dated 29.12.2023 bearing Case Crime No.657/2023 alleging commission of offence under Sections-498-A, 506 I.P.C. & 3/4 D.P. Act lodged with Police Station-Salon, District-Raebareli.

Petitioner no.1-husband and opposite party no.4-wife are agreeable for referring the matter for mediation for amicable settlement.

Accordingly, the matter is referred for mediation. Let petitioner no.1-husband and opposite party no.4-wife, both of whom are said to be residing at Mumbai, Maharashtra appear before the Mediator at the Mediation Centre of this Court at Lucknow on 07.03.2024 either personally or through video conferencing. Office to take necessary steps for providing link for such video conferencing. The Mediator shall conduct mediation proceedings and submit his report before the next date.

Petitioners shall deposit an amount of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only) within one week. As soon as opposite party no.4 appears before the Mediator, she shall be entitled to release of an amount of Rs15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand Only) out of the said amount. If she participates in mediation then on completion of mediation, she shall be entitled to another Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only). The rest of the amount shall be utilized by the Mediation Centre for meeting its expenses.

The matter shall now come up in the third week of May, 2024.

To facilitate the mediation proceedings and subject to deposit of the amount as aforesaid, it is provided that till the next date of

listing, the petitioners shall not be arrested. However, they shall co-operate in the investigation.
