Sri Sudeep Dwivedi, learned counsel for petitioner after arguing for some time submits that liberty granted to respondent i.e. Election Petitioner to cross-examination may be concluded expeditiously preferably within a period of two weeks so that election petition be disposed of expeditiously.
Considering the above submission and that impugned order to cross-examine was granted on 12.01.2023, therefore, if crossexamination is still not concluded, shall be concluded within a period of two weeks from today and thereafter Prescribed Authority will take all endeavour to decide the election petition, taking note of general mandamus issued by the Court in case of Mrs. Anita Devi vs. Prescribed Authority, Panchayat Raj and 11 others (Wrti- C No.14277 of 2016), decided on 31.03.2016 and Government Circular dated 06.07.2016 passed in pursuance thereof.
