The allegation in the FIR against the applicants, who are three in number, is that they came along with a local electricity lineman and said that there was a huge arrears of unpaid bills due to the Electricity Distribution Corporation against the complainant-opposite party. If the complainant paid half of what was due, the account would be settled. The complainant was threatened with disconnection in case she did not accept their suggestion. After that, a sum of Rs. 40,000/- was paid to the applicants by the complainant. After some time, the complainant along with her husband went to Haridwar. During this period of time, on 06.08.2022 at about 12:00 noon, applicant no. 1 Dharmendra Pandey, along with Ram Narayan Dubey and three others came over to the complainant's house. One of them introduced himself as a Junior Engineer. At that time, the sons of the complainant were present at home. The applicants demanded money from the complainant's sons. They sought time until their parents returned. The applicants threatened the complainant's sons with disconnection of electricity supply in case the money demanded was not paid.
