The instant petition has been filed for a mandamus commanding the respondent Authority to correct the voter list of Nagar Panchayat, Mundera Bazar, Chauri Chaura, District Gorakhpur, by deleting the name of voters who are registered in two wards simultaneously.
Learned Standing Counsel has placed for our perusal circular dated 24.11.2022 received from the State Election Commission, U.P. addressed to the District Election Officers in the State mentioning that any mistake in the electoral list can be corrected after affording opportunity of hearing to the affected persons until the date of nomination.
Learned counsel for the petitioner states that in view of the above circular of the State Election Commission, U.P., the petitioner will seek remedy in accordance thereof by approaching the District Election Officer.
Accordingly, we dispose of the petition with no further direction.
