This writ petition has been filed with the prayer to quash the First Information Report registered as Case Crime No.275 of 2021, under Section 135 of Indian Electricity Act, 2003, Police Station- Anti Power Theft Police Station Varanasi, District Anti Power Theft (Varanasi).
We have perused the first information report, which clearly contains the allegations with regard to theft of electricity. Whether such allegations are correct or not are an aspect to be examined during the course of investigation.
Leaving it open for the petitioner to purse an appropriate remedy available in terms of provision of Indian Electricity Act, this writ petition is consigned to records.
