Heard learned counsel for the petitioners; the learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondents; and have perused the record.
The case of the petitioners is that the elder son of the petitioner no.1 who was working as a Clerk in Zila Panchayat Inter College, Muradganj, district Auraiya was burnt to death and in connection with that a criminal case is pending. The grievance of the petitioners is that the 7th respondent who is a Principal of that college is threatening the petitioners and pressurizing them to withdraw the case. In connection therewith, for protection, the petitioners have moved a representation to the district authorities.
The prayer in this petition is to command the district authorities to provide security to the petitioners.
Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioners, looking to the nature of the allegations noticed above, we dispose off this petition by giving liberty to the petitioners to submit a comprehensive representation in respect of their grievance before the 4th respondent (District Magistrate, Auraiya). If any such representation is filed within three weeks from today, the District Magistrate, Auraiya shall call for a report from the police station concerned and take appropriate decision on the application of the petitioners by a reasoned order after giving opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned, preferably, within next six weeks.
