Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Standing Counsel for respondents 1and 2 and perused the record.
The prayer in this petition is to command the second respondent (District Magistrate, Baghpat) to provide protection to the petitioners as against force being used upon them to work as a bonded labour in the brick kiln of the respondent no.4.
From the record it appears that some representation has been sent through post on 18th November, 2020.
It has not been demonstrated that that representation has been received at the end of the addressee.
In view of the above, we deem it appropriate to dispose off this petition by giving liberty to the petitioners to make a comprehensive representation before the District Magistrate, Baghpat. If any such representation is made within two weeks from today along with copy of this order, the District Magistrate, Baghpat shall call for a report from the police station concerned as regards the correctness of the allegations made in the representation and shall take appropriate steps to prevent use of bonded labours, if necessary, preferably within next four weeks.
The petition stands disposed off.
