This is a writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to challenge an order dated 12.04.2018 passed by the Commissioner, Saharanpur Division, Saharanpur, under Section 6 of the U.P. Control of Goondas Act (hereinafter referred to as the 'Act') dismissing the Appeal No.00204 of 2018 and affirming the order dated 22.01.2018 passed by the Additional District Magistrate (Administration), Muzaffar Nagar under Section 3(1) of the Act ordering externment of the petitioner for a period of six months.
The submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the order of externment for six months was passed on 22.01.2018, which has elapsed for morethan three years, thus this petition has become infructuous by efflux of time.
In view of the above, this writ petition has become infructuous and it is, accordingly, disposed of.
Interim order, granted earlier, stands discharged.
