Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondent.

This writ petition has been filed for the following reliefs:-

"(i) a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.1 i.e. the Tehsildar, Tehsil Sadar, District Maharajganj to consider & decide the case no.50/69/925/16103 of 2017 i.e. Smt. Banhui Devi vs. Janak under Section 34 of U.P. Revenue Code 2006 within some stipulated period (Annexure No.1)."

It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that mutation proceedings were initiated by the authority concerned but despite several dates being fixed right from 2018, the case has not been decided.

Learned Standing Counsel, on the other hand, has raised an objection that on most of the dates, the case was adjourned due to the lawyers' on going strike and as such no fault can be attributed to the authority concerned for not deciding the case.

However, considering the facts of the case and subject to filing of a copy of this order before the respondent no.1, it is expected that the authority concerned shall consider and decide the application expeditiously without granting any unnecessary adjournments..

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
