This writ petition has been filed, inter alia, for the following relief;

"i. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding and directing the respondent no. 2 to decide the application of the petitioner dated 02.05.2019 for granting the license of selling meat of buffalos as retailer which is pending before the respondent no. 2 (Annexure no. 1)."

Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner has filed an application on 2.5.2019 for for meat licence/registration under The Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses), Regulations 2011 on 2.5.2019 before the authority concerned but the same has not yet been decided. He further submitted that the concerned authority is under an obligation under the said regulations to pass order within a period of two months from the date of the application so made before it.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this writ petition is finally

disposed of with a direction to the Respondent No. 2/concerned authority to take a decision on the application of the petitioner dated 2.5.2019 in accordance with law expeditiously preferably within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
