Present writ petition has been filed for the following relief:

"Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus, commanding and directing the respondents to release the amount of compensation as early as possible in lieu of land acquired by the National Highway Authority of India for which the petitioner is entitled."

The petitioners are owner in possession of Arazi No.500, 632, 734 and 735 situated at Village Bhauti, Pratappur, District Kanpur Nagar. Respondent no.3 acquired the land of the petitioners in the year 2014 after the notification under Section 3 of the National Highways Authority Act, 1956.

According to the petitioners they have not been paid compensation for the land so acquired by the respondent authorities. They moved applications on 4.2.2019 and 7.2.2019 for payment of compensation, which are pending consideration.

Having heard counsel for the petitioners and learned standing counsel for the respondents, we find that no useful purpose will be served in keeping the matter pending, as such, we direct respondent no.3 to decide the application of the petitioners pending consideration, by a reasoned and speaking order in accordance with law expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
