The sole relief pressed for by learned counsel for the petitioners at the time of hearing of the writ petition is that the application submitted by the petitioners before the Licensing Officer, Zila Panchayat, Bareilly for renewal of the slaughter house licence for the year 2017-18 be decided.
It is stated that all the formalities have been completed but still a decision has not been taken on the renewal application.
Learned Standing Counsel appears for respondent Nos. 1, 2 & 3. In view of the order that is proposed to be passed, it is not necessary to issue notice to respondent No. 4.
As the relief claimed is for taking a decision on the application filed by the petitioners for renewal of the slaughter house licence, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the Competent Officer, Zila Panchayat, Bareilly to take a decision on the application filed by the petitioners strictly in accordance with the rules and regulations expeditiously and preferably within a period of six weeks from the date a certified copy of the order is filed before the Licensing Authority.
It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated on the merits of the claim of the petitioners and it would be for the Licensing Authority to take a decision.
The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
