Section 12A. Assessment of land revenue on new holdings and distribution of revenue on parts of holdings

12-A. Assessment of land revenue on new holdings and distribution of revenue on parts of holdings. -

(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in the U.P. Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act, 1950(U.P. Act No. 1 of 1951), the Settlement Officer, Consolidation, may, subject to the rules made in this behalf -

(a) determine the amount of land revenue payable by a tenure-holder on land on which he acquires rights as a result of orders passed under 1[* * *] this Act; and

(b) where necessary, also determine the amount of land revenue payable in respect of a portion of the tenure-holder's holding.

(2) In assessing the amount of the land revenue payable under sub-section (1), the provisions of the U.P. Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act, 1950(U.P. Act No. 1 of 1951), and the rules made thereunder shall mutatis mutandis apply.
