Section 5. Offences under this Act to be cognizable

(1) Notwithstanding anything in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 18981 any offence punishable under this Act shall be a cognizable offence within the meaning of that Code.

(2) No court inferior to that of a Chief City Magistrate in the cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad or of a Magistrate of the First Class elsewhere shall try any offence punishable under this Act.
