Petitioner has filed a suit under Section 11 of Hindu Marriage Act for declaring his marriage with respondent as null and void. The said suit was filed before Additional Family Judge, Roorkee, District Haridwar in December, 2019. Petitioner has sought a direction to Court concerned to expedite hearing of the said suit. Learned Counsel for the petitioner has apprised the Court that notice has been duly served upon respondent (wife) and she has also put in appearance on 31.1.2020 and sought time to file written statement. However, she has not filed written statement and on every date, time is being granted to respondent for filing the written statement. Having regard to the fact that the suit was filed in December 2019, writ petition is disposed of with request to learned Additional Judge, Family Court, Roorkee to make every endeavour to decide the said suit as early as possible, preferably within one year from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
