Heard learned counsel for the parties.

Petitioner is serving as Village Development Officer in district Tehri Garhwal. The next promotional post available to the petitioner is of Assistant Block Development Officer.

According to the petitioner, persons junior to him have been promoted to the said post by ignoring his claim.

Petitioner has made representations claiming promotion, which are pending before the Commissioner, Rural Development Department/ respondent no. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner confines his prayer and submits that the writ petition may be disposed of by issuing direction to respondent no. 2 to examine petitioner’s claim for promotion within some specified time frame.

Prayer made is innocuous, therefore is worth accepting.

¶10

Accordingly, writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to consider and decide petitioner’s representation dated 16.03.2018 (Annexure No. 5 to the writ petition) and pass appropriate order on the same in accordance with law within eight weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order along with true copy of the representation.
