Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of lndia^praying that in the circumstances stated in the affidavit filed therewith, the High Court may be^pleased to a) issue an appropriate Writ, Order or Direction, more^particularly a Writ of fVlandamus, declaring the action of the respondent^police authorities in interfering with and pressurising the petitioner to settle the^private civil/property dispute^with Reddimilla Mahesh as illegal, arbitrary and without authority of^{law, b) consequently} direct the respondent^police authorities not to interfere^with the^petitioner's civil/property dispute with Reddimilla Mahesh and not to threaten, harass,^intimidate or pressurise the^petitioner to enter into any settlement, except by^followingdue process of law, c) direct the respondent police authorities that, if any complaint disclosing a cognizable offence is^pending or received, they shall act strictlyⁱⁿ accordance with law and shall not use^police machinery for adjudicating disputed civil rights or compelling a settlement, d) direct the respondent^{police authoritiesnot} to subject the^petitioner to any coercive actlon except in accordance^{with the} procedure established by law.

The petitioner alleges that he is being called to the police station and rrLade to sit in the police station for long hours only to settle the dispute with respondent No.4

The lerrrned Assistant Gor"ernment Pleader for Home, on u'ritten instructions, submitted that the 4'h respondent lodged complaint u'ith the police on 06.08.2026, and, in respect of the said complaint, the petitioner was called to the police station for making enquiries as to the veracity of the contents of the complaint, but the petitioner did not tum up or submit any information, and instead, he filed the presrnt writ petition. Il is also stated that the dispute mentioned in t)re complaint appeared to be civil in nature, relating to a money transaction, and, accordingly, the said complaint was closed It is further sr.ated that, as of norr', no case whatsoer er has been registered against the petitioner. and he is not at all required in connection with anv case.

In view rf these submissions, this rvrit petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent po lice not to call the petitioner to the police station in respect of the complaint of the 4'h respondent referred to above, and to follow due process in accordance with law,
