Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying that in the circumstances stated in the affidavit filed therewith, the High Court may be pleased to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of Writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents particularly the 2nd respondent in not considering the petitioner request for registration and exercising web options for admission into MBBS/BDS course under Competent Authority Quota "A" Category in ongoing or next phase of counseling for the academic year 2026- 2027 as illegal, arbitrary, unconstitutional and consequently direct the respondent No.2 to consider and permit the petitioner for registration and exercising web options for admission into MBBS/BDS course under Competent Authority Quota "A" category for the academic year 2026-27 in ongoing or next phase of counseling;

The Writ Petition has been preferred with the following prayer

"... to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents particularly the 2nd respondent in not considering the petitioner request for registration and exercising web options for admission into MBBS/BDS course under Competent Authority Quota "A" Category in ongoing or next phase of counselling for the academic year 2026-2027 as illegal, arbitrary, unconstitutional and consequently direct the respondent No. 2 to consider and permit the petitioner for registration and exercising web options for admission into MBBS/BDS^'course under Competent Authority Quota "A" category for the academic year 2026-27 in ongoing or nexr phase of counselling and pass such other order or orders as this Hon'ble Court may deems fit and proper in the circumstances of the case."

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had ! appeared for NEET IJG-2026 examination and secured A1l India Rank of 166588. However, as she has no source of support otherthan her father, who died recently, and her mother being illiterate, she inadvertently registered only under All India quota but not under the State Competent Authority quota for admission to MBBSIBDS course conducted by respondent No.2-Llniversity. Therefore, she filed representation dated 27.08.2026 before respondent No.2-University to permit her to register for counselling process for admission to MBBS/BDS course, but the same has not yet been considered. He further submits that respondent No.2-University be directed to decide the said representation in a time

bound manner.

Learned Standing Counsel for respondent No.2-University submits that the petitioner's representation shall be dealt with by^respondent No.2- University in accordance with law

In view of the aforesaid submissions, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing respondent No.2-University to deci,le the petitioner's representation dated 27.08.2026, in accordance wilh law, within one

week. It is made clear that this Court has not expre;sed any opinion on the merits of the case. There shall be no order as to crsts.
