This Writ petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is filed by the petitioners, wherein the foilowing prayer is made:
"... to issue a Writ, Order or Direction, more particularly a Writ in the nature of lvlandamus declaring the action of the Respondents 3 and 4 in calljng the petitioner on the police station illegally and interfering in the civil matters and forcing the petitioner to settle the civil disputes with the 5th respondent as illegal, arbitrary and unjust and violation of articles 14, 16 and 21 of the Constitution of India and consequently direct the respondents 3 and 4 not to harass the petitioner by calling him to the police station illegally and not to interfere in the civil disputes, in the interest of justice and pass such other order or orders... "

5.The main contention of the petitioneris that thre police concernedis interfering with the civil dispute between the parties to thelitigation'Since the aforesaidcrime was registered against thepetitioner,the investigating officer concerned has to investigatethe said crime, in accordance with law' In view of the gravity and natureof the offences' the respondent-police shall not force thepetitionerto compromise the civil dispute and shall not unnecessarilycall the petitionerand detain him in the police station.
