O R D E R:
Heard learned counsel appearing for petitioners and Sri A. Sanjeev Kumar, Special Government Pleader attached to the Office of the Additional Advocate General.
- This Contempt Case is filed alleging willful disobedience of the order dated 21.2.2013 in W.P.No. 4819 of 2009.
- Petitioners had filed the said Writ Petition stating that they had been recruited as Grade III Coaches by the then Andhra Pradesh Sports Authority, Hyderabad, pursuant to the notification dated 11.8.1993 issued by it. That, thereafter, they were given for appointment on contract basis on consolidated pay; although they had worked continuously, the Government of Andhra Pradesh was not considering their cases for regularization.
- On 21.2.2013, the said Writ Petition was disposed of by this Court after hearing the arguments of the counsel for the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, noting that the petitioners were appointed on temporary basis prior to the Andhra Pradesh (Regulation of Appointments to Public Services and Rationalisation of Staff Pattern and Pay Structures) Act, 1994 (A.P. Act 2 of 1994), which has come into force on 25.11.1993 and that as long as the said statute was in force, it would not be possible for the Government to regularize the services of the petitioners.
