Mr. Satyam Reddy, learned Senior Counsel for the appellants submits that the period for which the appellants sought permission to take out Ratha Yatra is almost complete and, therefore, he seeks liberty to the appellants to make fresh application to the Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh for seeking appropriate action/permission.
Writ Appeals are disposed of as rendered infructuous. It is open to the appellants to make an application for seeking appropriate permission/action, and if any such application is made, we hope and trust that the Director General of Police will consider the same in proper perspective and shall dispose it of as expeditiously as possible within a period of three weeks from the date of application. While granting the liberty, we shall not be understood to have expressed any opinion on the right of appellants to make such application. While dealing with the application that will be made by the appellants, it is open to the Director General of Police to seek reports from all
concerned, if necessary. It is needless to mention that the Director General of Police shall consider the appellants’ application on merits in accordance with law.
Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any, also stand disposed of.
