3. On a review of the issues concerning alienation of lands assigned to exserviceman, Government issued detailed order in G.O.Ms.No.307 dated 06.06.2013. The said G.O., mandate obtaining No Objection Certificate from the District Collector, as a condition precedent for alienation of the lands assigned. The order in G.O.Ms.No.307 dated 06.06.2013 is primarily intended to safeguard the interest of persons in whose favour the lands are assigned as it has come to the notice of the Government that certain illegal claims are made under the guise of assignment to an ex-serviceman and some times, the government lands are being alienated as if assignments are made. Therefore, the decision of the Government to streamline alienation of the lands assigned to ex-servicemen cannot be found fault with. At this stage learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the vendor of the petitioner would submit an application to the District Collector, for obtaining of No Objection Certificate. 4. Having regard to the above submission, the writ petition is disposed of giving liberty to the vendor of the petitioner to submit an application to the District Collector, Visakhapatnam, to grant No Objection Certificate. As and when such application is made, the District Collector, Visakhapatnam shall consider and pass appropriate orders as warranted by law, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of such application. There shall be no order as to costs.
