This Writ Petition is filed for the following substantive relief:

“ …. To issue a writ, direction or order particularly in the nature of writ of mandamus and order and direct the respondents herein particularly respondent No.3 herein to accept the Stay Visa issued by the Foreigner Regional Registration Officer, bearing Serial No.B004/VEF/IRN/004231/2012, dated 24-72012, issued under Rule 7(3) of the Registration of Foreigners Rules 1992 made under the Registration of Foreigners Act (16 of 1939) as the proof of residence/address proof for the petitioner herein, for his intended marriage under the Special Marriage Act …”

On 29-1-2013, the case was adjourned as the counsel for the petitioner was not present. Even today, when the case is called, there is no representation for the petitioner. Hence, it is reasonable to presume that the petitioner is not interested in pursuing his cause in the case. The Writ Petition is accordingly dismissed for non-prosecution.

As a sequel to the dismissal of the Writ Petition, WPMP No.46838/2012 is disposed of as infructuous.
