ORDER :
The petitioner was issued passport bearing No.F 5549091 and it was valid from 24.11.2005 to 23.11.2015. Since the passport was not released, the petitioner submitted an application on 25.11.2013 before the 2nd respondent in the prescribed proforma for re-issuance of fresh passport. So far, no orders are passed on the said application.
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that unless the new passport book is issued, the petitioner cannot travel abroad.
Having regard to the facts stated in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, without expressing any opinion on merits, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent to consider the application dated 25.11.2013 submitted by the petitioner for re-issuance of passport bearing No.F 5549091 and pass appropriate orders, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous petition, if any, pending in this writ petition, shall stand closed.
