The passport which was issued to the petitioner on 13.09.1985 bearing No.X286615 was expired in the year, 1995. The petitioner has not applied for renewal of passport. However, the petitioner avers that a representation is made on 22.10.2013 for correction of date of birth in the passport.

Learned Standing Counsel, on instructions, represents that the petitioner has not applied for renewal of passport before its expiry and so far he has not applied in the prescribed proforma.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned Standing Counsel, the petitioner seeks liberty to submit an application in the prescribed proforma for issuance of fresh passport.

In view of the same, the Writ Petition is dismissed giving liberty to the petitioner to submit application in the prescribed proforma for issuance of fresh passport and on receipt of the same, the 2^nd respondent shall consider and pass appropriate orders. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petition, if any, pending in this writ petition, shall stand closed.
