In this writ petition, the petitioner prayed for a direction to the respondents to pay the compensation amount to the petitioner as approved by the United Nations Compensation Commission in claim registration No. C 0000 171253.
The petitioner went to Kuwait on 5.10.1988 and worked as a Labourer in Kuwait and came back to India during Gulf War in October, 1990. It is further stated that the United Nations Compensation Commission has approved compensation to the victims of Gulf War and pursuant thereto, the claim of the petitioner was also approved for payment of $ 15570.93 (dollars), pursuant to which the said Commission sent the said amount to the Syndicate Bank, Main Branch, Kadapa, the 4th respondent herein. The grievance of the petitioner is that though he approached respondent Nos. 3 and 4 for
release of the compensation amount, no action has been taken by the said respondents in the matter. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition.
Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and having perused the material on record, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the respondent Nos. 3 and 4 within a week for releasing the compensation amount awarded in favour of the petitioner. If such a representation is filed by the petitioner, the said respondents are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders thereon expeditiously.
The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
